Master Hal Lipscombe, 7th Degree Black Belt, started teaching Taekwon-Do  in Port Coquitlam, B.C. in 1985 and when promoted to 1st. Degree Black Belt in 1988 Master. Lipscombe formed Pacific Rim Institute of  Taekwon-Do and started teaching through Port  Coquitlam Parks and Recreation Department.  Master Lipscombe has attended eleven International Instructor Seminars, four of which were conducted by the late General Choi Hong Hi, (the Father of Taekwon-Do and the President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation) and the balance led by the ITF Technical Committee. Master Lipscombe is a former President of the ITF of B.C. and a certified class A referee. Master Lipscombe's goal is to build a more peaceful world by teaching Taekwon-Do.

Mr. Law is a certified 6th Degree Black Belt International Instructor/Examiner with the International Taekwon-Do Federation.  He began his training in 1994 and has been successful at Provincial, National, and International competitions

Mr. Law is a former member of the Canadian National team representing Canada at four World Championships as a competitor and coach. He is also a Class A Umpire. He currently sits on the Technical and Umpire Committee for British Columbia as well as the Umpire Committee for the Candian Taekwon-Do Federation International

Mr. Law's goal is to be able to give students a safe environment where they can grow and succeed

Derek Licas

Mr. Licas has been involved in Martial Arts for over 28 years. In addition to teaching, he has participated in many seminars and competitions throughout the years. While his main focus and passion revolves around ITF
Taekwon-Do, he has also trained in Judo and Kick Boxing in the hopes of expanding his knowledge. His main goal is to keep our students motivated and excited about training, and incorporating Taekwon-Do into their daily lives

Diana Henson

6th Degree Black Belt 
Instructor

International Instructor

Ms. Henson has been practicing TKD for 29 years.  She is an International Taekwon-Do Federation certified 6th Degree Black Belt, International Instructor.  Ms. Henson has trained on three occasions with the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, and has attended numerous International Instructors Courses around the World.  In addition, Ms. Henson has attended the Taekwon-Do Kids Course, International Umpire Course and the Do Course.  Ms. Henson is a class B Umpire. 

An avid competitor, Ms. Henson was Canadian National Champion twice and Panamerican Champion on one occasion.

It is Ms. Henson’s belief that every student can go as far as they want and that their ability to achieve their goals are only limited by their desires.   As an Instructor, Ms. Henson dedicates herself to assisting her students to achieve their highest goals.

Mr. Thompson is a certified 5th Degree Black Belt International Instructor/Examiner with the International Taekwon-Do Federation.  He has been training for over 30 years and currently is the Chair ITF of BC tournament committee. Now focused on Taekwon-Do he also had many years experience in Judo and Karate during his high school years.
