In Taekwon-Do we recite the Student Oath to remind us of our promise to our instructors, fellow students and ourselves. We also use the tenets to guide us in how to behave towards ourselves and other people and help us choose right from wrong. Our tenets are:

< >Courtesy – Being polite and respectful through our words and our actionsIntegrity – Saying and doing the truthPerseverance – Never giving up, even when it is hardSelf-Control – Being in control of your thoughts, feelings, words and actionsIndomitable Spirit – Being brave, believing in yourself, not letting others stop you from reaching your goalsWhat are some ways that we show courtesy (respect) at Taekwon-Do?

< >What was hard to do/learn but you still did it? How does it feel now that didn’t give up and you did it?

< >Why is it important to use self-control in class?

< >You have learned a lot of new skills, how does that make you feel?

< >What have you learned that you are proud of?
