From June 6–8, members of Pacific Rim Institute of Taekwon-Do (PRTKD) proudly attended the 53rd Qualifying International Umpire Course (QIUC) held in Quebec City, Canada.
Hosted by the Canadian Taekwon-Do Federation International (CTFI), the course brought together over 50 participants from Canada, the United States, and Anguilla, including umpires, instructors, and officials dedicated to advancing their knowledge of ITF competition rules, officiating standards, and best practices.
The course was instructed by members of the ITF Umpire Committee, providing participants with valuable international-level insight and ensuring consistency in the application of current ITF competition standards.
Participation in events such as the QIUC reflects PRTKD’s ongoing commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and excellence in officiating. Developing knowledgeable and skilled officials helps us better support our students, athletes, tournaments, and the wider ITF Taekwon-Do community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside fellow officials from across North America and to bring this experience and knowledge back to our dojang.
A sincere thank you to the CTFI Umpire Committee, instructors, organizers, and all participants for an outstanding and educational weekend. We look forward to applying what we learned and continuing to contribute to the growth of Taekwon-Do officiating.
