NEW MOTIONS

Slow Motion

The movement is performed slowly, but according to the theory of power there has to be a slight acceleration at the end of the movement. There is one (slow) movement, one sinewave, in one breath. Slow motion techniques are meant to teach the student body control and balance. This is seen for example in the angle punch in Jun Goon
 

NEW STANCES

____Closed Ready Stance B (Moa Junbi Sogi B): Put your feet together and place your left hand over the right fist. Bring your fists 15cms from the belly button

 

____ Rear Foot Stance (Dwitbal Sogi) Used primarily for defense and rarely for attack

  • Rear foot 15° inward

  • Front foot 25° inward

  • Weight distribution is 90% back leg and 10% front

  • Front food should be 1 inch off the ground

  • Rear foot determines what type of stance it is

_____Low Stance
All the same characteristics as a Walking Stance except the length is one foot longer

Ready Position:  Closed Ready Stance B (Moa Junbi Sogi)


Definition:


Is named after the patriot Ahn Joong-Gun who assassinated Hiro-Bumi Ito, the first Japanese governor-general of Korea, known as the man who played the leading part in the Korea-Japan merger.  There are 32 movements in this pattern to represent Mr. Ahn's age when he was executed at Lui-Shung prison (1910).

 

 

ONE STEP SPARRING WITH A PARTNER

 

Purpose of 1 Step Sparring:


The purpose One step sparring is to train the student to defend and finish the sequence with one blow therefore there is a relation between One step sparring and self defense

 

Setting up for 1 Step Sparring

 

  1. Bow to each other

  2. Attacker Starts in Parallel Ready Stance * No Measure is Needed

  3. Defender starts in a Parallel Ready Stance

  4. When the attacker is ready they will “Kihap”

  5. Defender remains in a parallel ready stance and will “Kihap” when they are ready

  6. Perform step sparring with the Defender finishing in L Stance Forearm Guarding Block after the counter

 

2 STEP SPARRING  ( Ibo Matsogi)

 

3.   Attacker: Left L Stance reverse punch with the right hand

Defender:   Step back in a Right L Stance executing a reverse knifehand middle inward block with the left hand

Counter:      Maintain the previous stance and execute a side front kick with the left foot and landing in a right L stance guarding block

 

  1. Attacker:                             Left walking stance high reverse punch

      Defender/Counter:        Dodging side piercing kick while flying away from the opponent

                                                        then a high knife-hand side strike while forming a left L stance.

                                                        Double Step back into L stance forearm guarding block

____FREE SPARRING:                                                                                                     Comments:

____SELF DEFENSE ( Ho SinSul):  Hair grab, 2 hand grab around the neck against the wall
