____Closed Ready Stance A (Moa Junbi Sogi A): Put your feet together and place your left hand over the right fist. The distance from the fist to your philtrum is 30cm

 

____Fixed Stance (Gojung Sogi): Length: 1 & ½ shoulder width from big toe of the front foot  to big toe of the rear foot. Width: 1 inch from heel of the front foot to the heel of the rear foot. Weight distribution is 50% on each leg. Shoulders are half facing.

____Bending Ready Stance A (Goburyo Junbi Sogi): Stationary foot is angled 15 degrees, the leg that is chambered is angled at 45 degrees, shoulders are half facing.

____* New Facing – Reverse half facing: Shoulders are positioned 45 degrees opposite of the front foot ( Reverse) . Front shoulder is lower than the back.

Definition:

TWO STEP SPARRING WITH A PARTNER

 

Purpose of 2 Step Sparring:
Two step sparring enables the student to incorporate both hand and foot techniques into their pre-arranged sparring sequences, both in attacking and defensive modes

 

Setting up for 2 Step Sparring

 

  1. Bow to each other

  2. Attacker Steps back into a right L stance guarding block * No Measure is Needed

  3. Defender starts in a Parallel Ready Stance

  4. When the attacker is ready they will “Kihap”

  5. Defender remains in a parallel ready stance and will “Kihap” when they are ready

  6. Perform step sparring with the Defender finishing in L Stance Forearm Guarding Block after the counter

 

2 STEP SPARRING  ( Ilbo Matsogi)  -

3.   Attacker: Right walking stance obverse straight finger tip thrust step forward and perform low front snap kick with the left leg.

Defender:   Right  L stance knife hand guarding block, step back into a right walking stance circular block. Scoop leg and push to 45 degrees, step 45 degrees.

Counter:      Step out 45 degrees into a right L Stance knife hand side strike

4. Attacker:        Middle turning kick with the right leg, land  and step  into a  left fixed stance middle punch

Defender:    Right L stance forearm guarding block, Stepping back into a Left L stance twin forearm block

Counter:      Maintain left L stance and slide in with an inward knifehand strike with the left hand. Maintain L stance and perform forearm guarding block

 

____FREE SPARRING:                                                                                                     

____SELF DEFENSE ( Ho SinSul):  2 hand grabbing both hands, front choke 

____BOARD BREAKING:   Turning Kick, Downward Kick
