July 1st 2008 2008 Canada Day Demo at Castle Park Pacific Rim held it's annual Canada Day demonstration at Castle Park. The demo consisted of: Patterns, sparring, self defense, board breaking and an amazing brick breaking demonstration Thanks to all the students who took part in the Canada day Demo! June 7th 2008 136th ITF International Instructor's Course Pacific Rim Instructors took part in the 136th IIC in Oakville Ontario. The course was taught by the ITF Technical Committee, Masters Marano, Bos and Trajtenberg. Also present was ITF President Master Tran Trieu Quan who presented a class on " The Do" . We'd like to thank Master Tran and the ITF Technical Committee for a very informative weekend. We'd also like to thank Mr. Morningstar and the students of Morningstar Taekwon-do for their hospitality. Photos in Gallery

November 16th 17th 2007 2007 CTFI NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, Grande Prairie Alb. Gold breaker Coquitlam NOW Published: Friday, November 23, 2007 Four members of the Pacific Rim Institute of Taekwon-do scooped up seven medals at the International Taekwon-do Federation's nationals in Grande Prairie, AB. Chris Law set the tone with a standout performance, picking up a gold in men's power-breaking and a silver in 4th degree black belt patterns. First degree black belt Dakota Srigley topped the competition in the junior men's lightweight sparring division, and grabbed silver in both power-breaking and black belt team patterns. Jeff French, also a first degree black belt, was a jr. men's team winner, adding a silver medal in patterns. Soufian Azaz worked hard in the blue stripe pre-junior boys' division, netting a bronze for sparring.

October 6th 7th 2007 Pacific Rim hosts fourth annual President's Seminar
October 6th and 7th saw
instructors from all over the lower mainland The seminar covered a combination of free sparring, self defense, keys to building a successful club and "the Do" . Mr. Kurt Ottessen, 6th Dan and CTFI director of Umpires was also present, giving a brief overview of coaching. We'd like to thank Master Tran, Mr.Bujold and Mr. Ottessen for taking time out of their busy schedules to share their experience and knowledge with all of the attendees. |

Ms. Vrzal scores Silver at 2007 ITF World Championships in Quebec City Congratulations to Ms. Alex Vrzal who scored a silver medal in junior female 3rd Degree Black belt. Over 750 competitors from over 60 countries attended.

May 26-28th Pacific Rim Instructors attend ITF Coaching seminar Mr. Lipscombe and Mr. Law attended a 2 day seminar in Quebec on "Tournament Coaching and Elite Training" given by Master Lan, 8th Dan and coach for the German National Team. They learned many training strategies for both patterns and sparring which should help to increase the competitive level of our athletes.

February 19th 2006 Pacific Rim Attends 23rd ITF International Instructors Course The International Taekwon-Do Federation held its 23rd International Instructors course this weekend in Regina Saskatchewan.103 students were in attendance from Canada, United states, Netherlands and Ireland. Taking part in this event were: Mr. Law, Mr. Lavoie, Ms. Vrzal, Mr. Licas and Mr. Sokolowski. The Course was taught by the ITF Technical Committee headed by Master Hectar Marano ( 8th Degree Blackbelt, Chairman of the Technical Committee), Master Pablo Tratjenberg( 8th Degree Blackbelt, Senior Vice President of the ITF and Master Wim Bos ( 8th Degree Blackbelt,ITF Treasurer) Also present was ITF president Master Tran Trieu Quan. We'd like to thank The ITF Technical Committee for sharing their knowledge and wisdom with the Pacific Rim students. We'd also like to thank Master Clint Norman for a seminar well run!.
